The advantages of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) bridge decks are carving a market share for composite technology in the infrastructure industry and current trends point toward continued growth for FRP composite material. The National Composite Center (NCC) is continuing to take steps to help make FRP materials both more cost effective and commercially acceptable.
As a key technology facilitator, NCC’s work to apply FRP composites to the infrastructure industry includes the areas of project management, product development, education and technical support to customers such as bridge owners.
